"Toadstool" was the final major project I created in the third year of my time at university. Toadstool is about a useless superhero foiling a bank robbery in progress from an experienced villain. I chose to create this as an obvious satire of the super hero movie genre that has become increasingly popular over the last 10 years.
The project was a major learning experience for me.
My experience from this production has mainly taught me a lot of things not to do that I'll be taking with me into my next project. This project was a solo venture and I've developed a lot of skills independently, however I wish now to work as part of a team to further develop my skills in preparation for the workplace.
The pre-production process was the most successful part of this project. This process was the most in depth part of the development cycle that I've ever done. I am proud of what I produced during this part of the project.
The background is a massive improvement over what I had been producing the previous years. I am still not satisfied though, they can be taken so much further.
I don't consider the animation as being to my full potential and look forward to pushing myself further

Animation has always been what I wanted to do but over my time in University that ambition hasn't diminished but changed course. I find my attention has turned more to both cinematography and character modeling as potential career options I'd like to pursue in the future.
My personal strength in a production is character modeling in Zbrush. Not only do I think I'm good at it, I find it's one of the aspects that I enjoy the most.
I find that my weakest point in a production cycle is the environmental modeling. I can't seem to construct a set that I'm happy with. I am determined to push my sets further than they've ever been in my productions to come.
